My Monsters at the Storenvy HQ

Last week Adam Hendle of Storenvy.com ordered two little monster plushes from me to put in their office. To say the thought of my monsters gracing the Storenvy HQ was exciting is a bit of an understatement. (I may have ran around shrieking a lot bit. Or not. You'll never know).

They recently posted this picture on their media sites, and I had to share it here.

There they are! My monsters at Storenvy HQ in San Francisco!

This is a serious moment of pride for me. I ♥ Storenvy.com. I have a Storenvy tee shirt that I wear at least once a week and any time anyone mentions opening an online store I immediately say "Have you ever heard of Storenvy?" Why? Storenvy is the best e-commerce site out there, and I don't think Lu & Ed could be what it is without that site. I know a lot of people are still in the dark about the awesomesauce that is Storenvy so let me fill ya in.

Storenvy.com was the first ever e-commerce site I had ever heard of. I was sold on "free to use" and "totally customizable" and signed up for it the same day I was told about it. When I signed up the site barely had 500 users. I later learned about Etsy.com, but, um.. You had to pay to list, and pay to sell? AND everything was white, and boring? You couldn't tweak the way your shop looks? No, thanks. Lu & Ed needed color and pizazz, spunk and fun! So I stuck with Storenvy, despite people lamenting that I would have much better success on Etsy. I delved full force into my Storenvy shop, customized it, and have had over 200 transactions on Storenvy since April, 2010 and sold over 300 monsters through Storenvy.

Storenvy now has over 15,000 launched stores and is one of the fastest growing e-commerce sites out there. They are completely free to use, 100% customizable, and their support team is the best - they know a lot of their users on a first name basis and are quick to answer any support questions. They take site functionality suggests to heart and since I have joined I have seen many user suggestions of new features being implemented into the site. They really listen to their users, and it shows!

The site is set up like a social shopping site - You create a profile, and you can "like" stores and products and engage with other users by posting to their profile. When people view your profile, they see which items you have recently liked - similar to Pinterest and Wanelo. Likewise, you can connect with other users, and find awesome new shops, forum posts to engage in, and products to buy! It is a great site to hang out on if you love to shop!

From a seller's point of view, it has immediate appeal - you can COMPLETELY customize and brand your store - from simply adding a background and banner to completely changing the way the store looks with HTML tweaking. Take a peek at this store, this store, and this store for an idea of how much customization you can do. You can make an immediate impression on consumers by having a spectacular looking e-commerce site to grab their attention from the second your page loads. Also, you can purchase a domain, and Storenvy will host that domain for just $4.99 a month - IE luanded.storenvy.com to luanded.com. :)

Then of course, there is the undeniable appeal of the site being completely free. No fees at all, aside from Paypal fees which you will incur pretty much anywhere if you sell online. You can opt in to options, like domain hosting or Super Discounts, which is $2.99 a month and allows you to offer a percent off, dollar amount off, free shipping, or buy one get one deal that don't require codes, but even without adding Super Discounts you can still offer a percent off sale that requires a code that is entered during check out.

As you can see, Storenvy is pretty awesome. But don't just take my word for it. Check it out yourself.
