I love today's #fmsphotoaday prompt.
October marks four years of Mon-stor making. ♥ Yup, I've been so lucky as to be running my own business for four years now. It seems like forever and yesterday all at once. I am so thankful for everyone who has helped me live my dream, owning a creative business while being able to raise my son as a stay at home mother, by adopting a Mon-stor or monster toy. I couldn't have done this without the support of all you monstrously awesome people. ♥ Thank you, monster loving friends, thank you!
To commemorate, here's a picture of the second Mon-stor I ever made alongside a more recently made Mon-stor! :) My, how they have evolved - but did you know I still use the original pattern? The only actual design difference is limbs! I just got (WAY) better at sewing. ;)
How fun. I love to watch sellers grow and change and um, no offense, but what you are making now is much better and I love your Mon-stors.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it funny to look back on our first creations? I know when I do sometimes I just cringe lol.
ReplyDeleteHehe! Oddly, I don't look back on the first Mon-stors and cringe - the first three (including the orange ones shown!) are still hanging in my son's bedroom, four years old and holding strong, full of Nerf guns, stuffed animals and laundry! It makes my heart happy to know even my earliest and most primitive design of Mon-stors was sturdy enough to last four years of daily use! :) It's incredible to me that nothing has actually changed about Mon-stors design besides the limbs when I look at the difference in structure and how much more personality newer Mon-stors have - though I feel like the older Mon-stors have a bit of whimsy to them, like Where the Wild Things Are, sorta.
DeleteSorry for the rant, you just got my brain turning! :) Thanks so much for visiting my blog and leaving a comment, it really brought some new thoughts to mind!
Super cute! I love watching crafters grow :)

I do too! I hope this was inspiring to some people just starting out - it's oh-so-important to remember that we all start somewhere, and everyone evolves and our skills are always improving, whether that be our product construction, our product photography or writing our product descriptions - we all can, and will, always improve with time, knowledge and practice. :)
DeleteThis just shows that you've been working at getting better! I also cringe at the sight of some of my earlier works at times :p
