How does it feel to be so successful at a young age?

That was Roszberries question on my "Ask me" post. Thanks for asking it! It has truly made me think, a lot.

In fact, I've been thinking about this question since I read it. I'm not exactly sure how to answer it. What is success to you? I know I don't gauge it the way most people do.

I feel as if I work hard every day because I love something and want it to grow, and can I see the fruits of the labor? Yes, most definitely. I don't think that's success, though. I think that's simply the result of hard work. Success, to me, is more than statistics, more than money, more than popularity.

I genuinely l♥ve what I do, every single little moment of it. I love the entire process, the fabric selection, ironing, pinning, cutting, sewing, trimming, finishing, seeing a Mon-stor brought to life, photographing, editing photos, and listing them, all the while dreaming up personalities and silly stories about the Mon-stors. I love sharing them with people, and seeing people be excited by them, seeing how people use them them and love them. I love seeing kids playing with them, feeding the Mon-stors toys and taking their plush monster friends on grand adventures. I love the colors, the feel of them. I love networking and marketing and going to craft shows. Shopping for materials. Packaging orders. Finding ways to make a positive impact with my business, by recycling packaging, and buying post production materials, and using scraps to make dog beds to donate to animal shelters. I genuinely love every last single detail about Lu & Ed.

I think a lot of people base success on money and power and influence, which I will tell you right now, I don't have much of any of those things. I don't even own a car, and I can't even convince my dog to roll over. But I do know that at the end of the day, I am proud of myself, my accomplishments, what I have done, and know that I have worked an honest day's work, by giving my work all of myself, and enjoying it, all of it, and never for a moment doing less than my best.

To me, I think I could interpret that as successful. It's not about money, or how many sales I make. It's about constantly being happy with myself and my work at the end of the day, loving the process as much as the end result every day, inspiring others and making people smile. :) So, if that is a fair measurement for success, then I would say that it feels really good. ♥

I believe that every person is given the same twenty-four hours in a day as any other person. Everyone has the potential to do great things, and have many great successes. They simply need the inspiration and motivation to do so.
