Don't break a tooth on this sweet prize!

How sweet is this prize from The Marker Maiden? A three piece wooden play food set, Halloween style! Candy corn, caramel apple and a chocolate candy! These chunky wooden toys are great for babies and toddlers. Each is cut out and handpainted by husband/wife team Jaken and Josh, who believe that creative imaginary time is necessary for brain development and future interest in creativity. I think their toys definitely provide that opportunity for creative stimulation - Jaken and Josh also make wooden doll houses, play kitchens, wall art, puzzles, matching games and several different sets of wooden play food.

In addition to these sweet wooden candy sets (which also make cute holiday decor!) The Marker Maiden also has a new addition to their inventory this season - 2D chalkboard pumpkins! These are so cute, you can write a spooky message for trick or treaters, or put a simply display a "Happy Fall" message on it, or leave it out for neighbors to leave messages on! Very sweet addition to any home's Autumn decor. ;)

Jaken and Josh are still in the process of setting up an online shopping venue for The Marker Maiden, so for any orders or requests, please send them an email or message through their Facebook

What is your favorite thing about Autumn?

We love, love, love Autumn for the cooler temps!!!

What are you dressing up as for Halloween? What about your kids?

This Halloween I will be dressing up as Lucille Ball and I'm trying to convince Josh to be Ricky, but I haven't quite gotten him on board yet!:) Our kids are still VERY undecided:). They change their minds about every day.

Do you decorate for Halloween? How?

We love decorating for Halloween b/c it's a favorite holiday for us. I love everything Martha Stewart suggests for decorating b/c all her ideas are timeless.

What has been your most epic Halloween costume to date?
In 1999, I went as Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz. A lady from my job at the time, sewed the entire thing for me. It was amazing!

What is your favorite thing about Halloween?

My favorite thing about Halloween is definitely the dressing up! It's sooo much fun to be somebody else for a day. I usually start planning my costume in the Spring!:)

Do you have a favorite Halloween candy?

My favorite Halloween candy is definitely the orange and green sugary pumpkins. They remind me of being a kid every time I eat one.

How does Autumn inspire your creative business?

Mostly Autumn inspires me just because I feel so energized this time of year, so I really WANT to create and paint and work. The chill in the air makes me calm and relaxed so it's easy to be inspired.
How sweet are these spectacular creations from the hands of Jaken and Josh?! I have always loved their products, ever since I first met them when they were selling at Daft Crafts. :) They will always stand out in my mind, they are some of the sweetest people I have ever met with some of the cutest and most high quality products I have ever seen.

Their puzzles and play food sets always sold like hot cakes for Christmas and birthday gifts at Daft Crafts, and they make adorable baby shower gifts as well! If you are looking for a great, one of a kind, unique gift, be sure to check out The Marker Maiden's Facebook page and give it a browse, and "like" it to stay on top of the news so as soon as they launch their online store you are one of the first to know!
