Storenvy is Epic.

Next week I am celebrating three awesome years selling Mon-stors on Storenvy.com! I launched Lu & Ed on Storenvy April 10th, 2010 and it has been an awesome three years growing my brand, and watching Storenvy grow! They recently had a HUGE makeover, and it's like Pinterest and Etsy got mashed together to make an awesome love child. You can read all about the makeover here!

A lot of people still don't know about Storenvy, and that's cool - I'm changing that next week. ;) Storenvy is an epic e-commerce platform.

Why is it epic?
  • It's totally customizable. It's not plain white like other sites. I can make my store look however I want, from just changing the background, colors, and header to completely rewriting the CSS & HTML and putting in slideshows & interactive menus.
  • It's also free to use. Free to list and currently, free to sell! There is talk in the future that Storenvy may charge a small percentage on sales from the marketplace - which is Storenvy's backend search engine people use when they visit Storenvy.com - but not on sales you make from your custom shop. How epic is that?
  • You can domain host - for instance, instead of myshop.storenvy.com, you can be myshop.com and really build brand recognition and make it easy for people to find your shop!
  • It's personal. The Storenvy staff pays attention to it's users, communicates with them, and actually listens to their suggestions. They actually sent me a handwritten note congratulating me on my three year Envyversary, signed by the entire staff! ♥ Can you say that about other sites?
But it's not just epic for sellers - it's a pretty sweet site to shop on. I could lose myself for hours just on the home page - it's like Pinterest, but with awesome indie products! You can "follow" your friends and other users to see what products  they "Envy", and you can "Watch" shops so their latest listings get delivered right to your home page! You have the power to start trends - products are ranked in real time popularity so if you Envy a product, then your friend does, then their friend - boom, you just started a trend and that product will rank higher in the search results. How neat is that?

And that awesomeness what I want to bring to light next week with my three year Envyversary celebration! I have an awesome round up of Storenvy shops who have signed up to sponsor this celebration, and we want you to check Storenvy out - entries into this giveaway can be earned by "Watching" their Storenvy shops and "Envying" a product from their shops - the more entries you earn, the more likely you are to win over $200 worth of prizes by indie designers, brands and artists!

Obviously you'll need a Storenvy account to earn those entries. So sign up! Go to Storenvy.com and click "join". Chose your username and password. Get familiar with the site - if you get confused, check out their FAQ or feel free to shoot me a message! Then come back here on the 7th to get in the pot to win some awesome merchandise!

  1. It's official. I'm converted. I've been searching all day for the etsy vs. storenvy debate and to hear this from a shop owner I trust clenches it for me.

  11. Sounds awesome! Admittedly, Storenvy doesn't have as much traction as Etsy does for now, but that could be changing soon. So for those who choose Storenvy, they have to work a little harder to get more traffic their way. The advantage though is that they don't have as many competitors yet as they would inevitably have on Etsy, but that doesn't mean they can slack off on their marketing.
