2013 Week by Week - Week 24

Here we are again, another Monday! I hope everyone had a GREAT Father's Day! :) We had a really low key day, celebrated with handmade gifts - Trace got a new razor handle from Mystic Eye Creations and some manly soap from A Slice of Delight. :) Here's a pic of the razor handle Tanya and Dan made for Trace, he loved it!

Sooooo, honestly, I am pretty nervous about today's post. I didn't get many monsters made this week because of that big secret thing going on I keep hinting at. And I think, today, finally, I am ready to spill the beans.

I have wanted to move back to South Carolina for about two years now. But sometimes things don't always work out how you want, and either you can be a miserable, bitter angry person about it, or you can embrace the way things are and bloom where you are planted.

At first I was pretty miserably bitter and angry about it. But I've since come around and we have started to move forward with our lives here in Missouri by doing just that, blooming where are planted.

So we bought a house last month. And we close on it in exactly ten days from today. :) Bam, how is THAT for a surprise?

We started looking at houses around the end of April, in the evenings and every day Trace was off work. We saw a few dozen, but then found The One. It's so adorable. And the entire process has went without a hitch. Now, just waiting until closing day.

It was hard to not share this step in our lives with all our friends and family, but after the failed attempts to move to South Carolina, I was honestly terrified to get excited about buying a home and telling everyone about it. Like if I did get excited and start talking about it, somehow it would all fall through, you know? So I've been patiently waiting, packing, cleaning up our current home in preparation for the big move. I'll miss this sweet condo -  my son started kindergarten and first grade here, my fiance graduated from college while we lived here, Lu & Ed grew so much while we lived here. So many great memories within these walls. I hope the next family that lives here is as happy as we have been here. :)

And somehow, even with all the moving prep, I was able to get some sewing in this past week and add new stuff to the shop  as well as make some more inventory for LGG in MI. Here's the weekly photo recap!

I made this for my dad for Father's Day! He's a truck driver, so he's going to put it in his truck. :D

I've started to pack my studio up a bit, so not sure how many new monsters you will see before our move! Also, I may be late on my weekly recap next Monday - Cari from The Mollie Shop is coming to visit! She arrives Sunday and is staying a few days here in KC! I can't wait to hang with with mah bestie!! It's going to be AWESOME! Perfect thing to calm my nerves right before we close on our house. :D And then obviously that Thursday we close on our house and move, so not much monster making next week either while we unpack and get settled. :)

Whew, it feels good to get that off my chest. I've been on pins and needles waiting to talk about us buying a house, and now that all the paper work is in and we're just ticking days off until closing, it feels good to finally start getting excited about it! :) And now, I need to scuttle off here, pack that box for LGG and then a pack more boxes - for the move. :)
