I am SO excited to announce the results of the online portion of the raffle. I am accepting raffle entries in person for two more days while I am at the Strawberry Swing IFC(where I will be today, please come visit me!), and I will do the drawing on June 3rd and announce final totals then, and we'll be shipping this pretty lady off to her new home!
So, I just closed off the online entries, with a total of 80 raffle tickets sold, and 17 additional entries earned by sharing the raffle via social media! (That is going to be a lot of little scraps of paper to draw from the bowl!) Our goal was to raise enough money with the raffle to donate money equal to one mammogram, which averages between $150-$300, and we raised just enough!!! We ended up with $160 of online entries to donate to the Susan G Komen Greater Kansas City Affilliates!!!
The Susan G Komen Greater Kansas City Affiliates donates 75% of their grant money to local clinics for breast cancer education, screening and treatment for uninsured, under-insured and low income women. Here is a list of the 2012-2013 grant recipients.
I am so excited that we were able to raise so much money for such a wonderful cause. After my own recent breast cancer scare, I can say that this donation will definitely help a person in need of low cost or free mammography services have some peace of mind, and that is huge to me. I am so thankful for the services of Susan G Komen, that I was able to get the screenings I needed, and so thankful for all of you that have helped me help others with the very same needs. ♥

If you don't use random.com to choose the winner, I hope you put the names in the prize Monstor to draw the winner from. Congrats on such great success with the raffle, and thanks for being such a caring soul to do something as great as this raffle. You are a winner, yourself, and we are all winners to be associated with you!
ReplyDeleteThat is just what we will do, put the names in the Mon-stor! What a brilliant idea! Thanks, Debbie! We are cutting out the names from notebook paper right now and are about to count, fold and stir them before the drawing!
